Via Ferrata Groups

Youth Groups - Groups with minors unaccompanied by their parents must download the INFORMATION PACKET WITH WAIVER FORMS, and bring forms for each youth climber, signed by a parent, with you to NRP on the day of the climb. The minimum age for any climber (with or without parents) is 13. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions to either of these requirements.

A via ferrata group is required to be guided if it is (1) a "commercial group", or (2) a "youth group" which includes persons under 18 years of age not accompanied by their parents or guardians (13 years old minimum). Commercial groups include all groups organized and/or led by outside commercial outfitters, schools, guide services etc., or which otherwise charge group members a separate fee for services in connection with the group trip.

Generally, one guide is required for every 10 climbers (or fraction thereof). In addition, youth groups are required to include two or more responsible adults for every eight minors.
Please download our Via Ferrata customer packet , make copies and distribute to each member to read and sign in advance. Remember, a parent or legal guardian must sign for each group member under age 18, so minors not accompanied by a parent/guardian must bring pre-signed releases.

ROCK CLIMBING GROUPS
Group organizers which have been approved by NRP to organize and/or lead groups for conventional, roped rock climbing activities at the Preserve (see Rock Climbing) must contact NRP to schedule each visit at least seven days prior to each visit. Dates, times and areas of the Preserve to be used by the group are subject to NRP approval in its sole discretion. All group members, leaders etc. must sign individual releases and pay a day use fee of $5 upon arrival for each visit. Minors not accompanied by their parents or guardians must bring pre-signed parental releases.

SCHEDULING
Due to increasing demand, the Via Ferrata is operated by appointment only. All appointments are subject to staff availability; please call 1-800-729-9230 to schedule.
